Love Leads Me Home
My husband and I recently had the opportunity to spend time with my brother-in-law and his wife in the mid-west and, although the two of them have been married for quite some time, this was the first time we had been able to visit them over the span of several days.
Both work professional fields and while he works close to home, my sister-in-law spends several days per month working at a facility that is roughly three hours away.
While distance can sometimes be hard on a relationship, they keep their relationship strong through their mutual love of Ukuleles (they have quite an extensive collection), their love of birding and Tex Mex food. My sister-in-law also sews and showed us some of the pieces that she's created.
This song is about the strength of their relationship - each as their own person, who prize their independence - but who support the same mutual foundation.
"And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow."
-Kahlil Gibran (On Marriage)
This one would probably be a good candidate for Pentatonix.
